Zafraedia Monthly Writing & Photo Contest
1. Promoter
• This contest is organised by Zafraedia (www.zafraedia.com), based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia (“the Promoter”).
2. Eligibility
• Open to individuals aged 18 years or over who are currently residing in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden), the Netherlands, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina.
• The contest is void where prohibited by law.
• Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of the Promoter are not eligible to enter.
3. Contest Cycle
• The contest runs on a two-month cycle:
- Month 1: Entries are accepted.
- Month 2: Community voting takes place on Month 1’s entries.
• During each entry period, participants may submit:
- One story entry (maximum 200 words).
- One photo entry with caption (maximum 50 words).
• Themes or concepts for upcoming contests will be announced on Zafraedia’s platforms so participants can begin preparing their next entry.
4. Entry Requirements
• Entries must be the entrant’s own original work.
• Submissions must be in English, but entrants are encouraged to translate their own work from their original language if English is not their first language.
• Entries must be submitted via [entry platform: website form / email / instructions].
• Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted.
5. Community Membership & Voting
• By submitting an entry, participants automatically join the Zafraedia Community.
• Only community members (those who have submitted entries) are eligible to vote.
• Each participant may cast one vote per contest they entered (one for writing, one for photo).
• Entries will be displayed anonymously during the voting period.
• The entries with the highest number of valid votes will be declared winners.
• The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify fraudulent or automated votes.
• The Promoter’s decisions regarding eligibility, votes, and winners are final.
6. Prizes
• Prizes are provided through donations from sponsors who wish to promote culture.
• Winners will receive their prize payments via PayPal, Western Union, or Wise, according to their preference.
• The advertised prize amount already includes any transfer charges or fees applied by PayPal, Western Union, or Wise. The amount actually received by the winner may therefore be lower than the advertised amount, depending on the service provider’s fees and exchange rates.
• The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to deliver prizes within 14 days of the winners being announced. Delivery times may vary depending on the chosen payment provider and the winner’s country of residence.
• If the chosen payment method cannot be used in the winner’s country, an alternative payment arrangement of equivalent value (before transfer charges) will be offered.
• Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for other alternatives.
7. Announcement of Winners
• Winners will be announced during the voting month, once results are verified.
• At that time, winners’ names will be published alongside their entries.
• By entering, participants consent to having their name and entry published for promotional purposes.
8. Intellectual Property
• Entrants retain ownership of their work.
• By entering, participants grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, publish, and share their entry for the purposes of running and promoting the contest, including on Zafraedia’s website, social media channels, and partner platforms.
• From time to time, the Promoter may also publish selected entries in collections such as a book or magazine featuring the best stories and photos from the contest. Whenever entries are published in this way, the author or photographer will always be cited and credited by name.
• Credit will always be given to the creator whenever their work is published or shared.
9. Privacy
• Personal information (such as name, email, and payment details for prize delivery) will only be used for the administration of the contest.
• The Promoter complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and GDPR.
• Entrants may request access to or deletion of their data by contacting [email protected].
10. Liability
• The Promoter is not responsible for late, lost, or incomplete entries.
• The Promoter accepts no responsibility for technical issues, service interruptions, or errors affecting entry or voting.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter excludes liability for any loss, damage, or injury suffered in connection with the contest or the prizes.
11. Governing Law
• These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
• Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
