Who can enter?

For now, anyone 18+ residing in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden), the Netherlands, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. First-time writers, amateur photographers and award-winners share the same fair stage. Local laws may apply.

What’s the word limit?

200 words max for the story and 50 words max for your photo (title not counted).

How many stories and photos can I submit?

You may submit one story and one photograph per contest / month.

Can I use a pseudonym (pen name)?

Yes! Names stay hidden while voting. After results, we reveal authors using their chosen display name.

What do I write to?

Each month, we introduce a concept in alignment with our sponsors. Your work should respond to that theme.

Is there an entry fee?

No. There’s no fee to enter—the prize pool is funded only by our sponsors.

What languages can I enter in?

English for now, but we encourage you to translate your stories and captions from your preferred language.

San Blas Islands, Panama

Anonymity & Voting

Are entries anonymous?

Yes—names are hidden while voting is open. After the count, we reveal all authors and announce the winners.

How do votes work?

Each entrant may cast up to two votes—one for stories and one for photos. You cannot vote for your own entry. To ensure fairness and foster a community where everyone has an equal chance, we use IP, device, and cookie checks, along with manual reviews.

Who decides the winners?

The community votes. Entries with more votes rise on the page during the voting window.

Can I ask people to vote?

You’re welcome to share the contest page—but only our community can vote. This means voting is limited to participants from the current or past contests. No vote-swapping, incentives, bots, or duplicate accounts are allowed. Any violations may result in disqualification.
